Cleans

Mom and dad had mondo work to do so Jake had to spend a couple of hours at the babysitters this AM. We felt sorry for him, but later when we brought over some mandu to say thanks for watching him on a Saturday, he didn't want to leave and bawled when we pulled away from the driveway. He's usually raring to go when we pick him up. This is what he looked like as soon we walked in the door this AM...

...but I guess it worked in reverse this time. He was all smiles by Wailaie though. From what I've read, he's a typical toddler. Easily bothered, likes to throw tantrums, but just as easily distracted if you show him something he likes. I worry that we're spoiling him, but I think mom is doing an unbelievable job at being consistent and fair. She really is a great mom.

The rest of the day was spent getting more supplies at Home Depot and then cleaning Jake's room. We narrowed his toy choices down (he had WAY too many just laying around) and rearranged his books. His room looks great now, especially with him sleeping peacefully in it.

We ha planned making Mexican food with Matt and Kate so we were busy from the time we stepped in the door making food and prepping. Jake fell asleep right after dinner, dad and mom followed suit when Matt and Kate left. Needless to say, no pic for yesterday. Sorry Boo. Later for sures...

Education

Mom and dad didn’t get too much of a chance to hang with Jake today b/c they were opening his 529, or college savings account. Starting todat Jake will be saving for college. Of course we’re hoping he won’t have to pay for it, but better safe than sorry.

Mom and dad picked up a pizza for everyone, but it turns out Jake ate mahi mahi and fruit yogurt with Nana while we were planning for his future.

Meaty

Mom needs to use the Internet, so I only have a minute tonight. Simple day, picked up Jake and we went to Best Buy for component cables and then to eat kalbi. Jake is not a big meat eater. Actually, he doesn't like it at all. So, while mom and I devoured all you can eat kalbi, Jake devoured kim/bap sticks made by mom. All was good in all the stomachs.

What's My Name

Picked up the Jakes at 4 and he slept 'til about 6. This is great except it means he's not exactly tired come his 8:30 bed time. He gets pretty wired around 8 actually. He won't sleep at the ajumma's b/c there are now 3 other kids there and he likes to play with them. He's getting to bed OK, but tonight was particularly fussy.

He had spaghetti for dinner, sans sauce. What kid doesn't love spaghetti? He had fun eating it, but just as much fun throwing it, squishing it, and putting it in the chair next to him.

Workaday Upstart

Today was back to work Monday after the holidays. Mom worked super late and Jakey slept until 5. Nana and dad took him to the playground where he got to smile and have fun. He loves to be on the jungle gym.

On a personal note, I sometimes get very worried and scared for Jake's future. The economy is horrible and getting worse. There is continued war in the Middle East. I don't want to turn this into a political blog, but this is what is happening in the world. I hope Jake lives in a peaceful world. I really do.

Available Now

As I write this the Jakers is making gaugee with mom and nana. This may be the highlight of his day as the other parts were spent cleaning with mom and dad and helping nana move into her new apartment. He did get to go to the won Buddhist temple with mom in the AM to pray for his halmoni and whomever else he wanted to wish good thoughts for. He got to eat ddok-guk and when he emerged from the temple he was all smiles and giggles. Turns out he had jello after the ddok-guk. OK, perhaps this was the day's highlight.
