Buffanblues

Full day for the Jakers.

Started with some aggressive AM play at home. Among other things, he got himself into the rice dispenser, which holds about 2 large bags of rice. There's a lever that releases 1 serving of rice into a drawer. Jake is fascinated with the thing. While I was washing up, he decided to press the lever several times, without the drawer in place. Rice everywhere.
After a breakfast of chungguk jang, we headed to the Punahou carnival with Nana. Tons of people, hot, but fun. Jake doesn't like cotton candy or merry-go-rounds, but he does like malasadas, cheeseburgers, and chili and rice. Oh, and water, he loves water.

Finished up with 2 hours of dancing with Odin at the Baby Loves Disco party at the O Lounge. Dude is already hitting the clubs.

Manoa Maniac

Mom got a perm after work so it was all Jake and me today. I took him over to Manoa Gardens to see Val, Mo, Sean, Michelle, and Nicole. He had a blast eating cookies, drinking soy milk, playing with Val.
Afters we went for dinner with Nana at Kona Brewing Company. Jake only had a few beers. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy his mac and cheese as well as our pizza. Nana, of course, couldn't resist giving him ice cream after dins.

The Basketball Diary

Blogging early today because mom and I are going to a basketball game later tonight. Nana's going to watch the Jakers, which I'm sure he's excited about b/c he'll get to eat muffins, cookies, ice cream, and whatever other unhealthy food is laying about. All before dinner. His Nana loves him.

I entered Jake into a "Cutest Baby"contest today. It's through the Honolulu Advertiser. I'm generally against these things, popularity contests, but I figure what the heck. Actually his Auntie Angela recommended we do it, so I did. I'm not sure any pictures do him justice though. Good luck Jake!
The pix are from this early AM. No shirt, a strawberry, and dookie practice.

Until Tuesday

Planned on taking Jakers to the park, but I was told by the babysitter he skipped his nap today. Sure enough, he was all Zs as soon as he hit his chair. Went to the park (Ala Moana) anyway and I snapped this shot of him. It was a relatively down evening at home because mom had a bad day at work, but we had a nice dinner the three of us.

Fascinating bit of the day...I asked Jake before dinner where my glasses were. He pointed to the sink (where they usually are), but I said, "No Jake, they're not here. Where are they? I think they are on the night-table." He then proceeded to the table, but they weren't there. He walked around seemingly saying "I think they're here!" I'm absolutely dumbfounded by this because it tells me he is completely bilingual. He is.

The Beauty of Garbage

Typical Tuesday.

Picked up Jake, came home, played a little, watched a little Barney (he's honestly not that interested), mom came home, ate, Jake is currently trying to sleep.

Major milestones for the day? Actually, we know it's a process and the process is long, but it's fun as hell. We're trying not to let the little things pass us by. For example, I was taking out the garbage and Jake wanted to come. The fact that he knows where I'm going and what I'm doing is fascinating to me. He leads the way. I say "I'm taking out the garbage Jake, do you want to come?" and he goes strait for his shoes. This time it was mom's shoes, as seen below. We love every second of it.

2.2

Today was my birthday. Nana and I took Jake for a walk to the bookstore, then we had dinner at Sam Choy's. Loved the day, but it was a bit odd. Jake was somewhat fussy both places and Sam Choy will most likely not get my money again. Any day with Jake is a good day though.

Super Bore Day

This AM was our favorite part of the week: Ohana Music. Jake was a little rusty after a week off, but by the end of the class he was moving. It was a great class. "Free Dance" was The Song of the Day!
In the afternoon Odin came over for a play date. They were awesome together. They seemed to be communicating well and the giggled and laughed all day. I was proud of both of them for being so nice to each other. They share and never get fussy or possessive. They even hugged when Odin left.
Oh, the Super Bowl. Watched it, exciting game, but blah.
